French Development Company
The French Development Company develops residential and commercial buildings and has been an active real estate developer in Baltimore City since 1982. The Company specializes in the development of non-profit, community-sponsored projects and redevelopment of neighborhood residential and commercial properties for itself and others.
Many of French’s projects have used historic and low income housing tax credits, as well as government funding programs and private market rate loans to encourage urban revitalization, low and moderate income residential development, and commercial revitalization.
French provides its clients with full development services that include
(i) preparation of development and operating budgets,
(ii) applications for government, foundation and private loan funding,
(iii) selection, employment and supervision of architects and general contractors,
(vi) securing city government agency approvals and understanding regulation and codes, and
(v) general contracting and construction management
